Abstract
At its thirtieth session (Geneva, 30 April–4 May 2012), the Executive Body adopted decision 2012/2 on the amendment of the text of and annexes II to IX to the 1999 Protocol to Abate Acidification, Eutrophication and Ground-level Ozone and the addition of new annexes X and XI (see ECE/EB.AIR/111/Add.1). Article 5, paragraph 1 (e), and article 7, paragraph (3) (c), of the Protocol to Abate Acidification, Eutrophication and Ground-level Ozone (Gothenburg Protocol), as amended by this decision, refer to guidance on health and environmental improvements to be adopted by the Executive Body. This guidance document has been prepared by the Working Group on Effects, in cooperation with the Steering Body to the Cooperative Programme for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Long-range Transmission of Air Pollutants in Europe. It reflects the commitments of the revised Gothenburg Protocol, namely to include 2005 as the base year for emission reduction reporting and 2020 emission reduction commitments. The present document is being submitted to the Executive Body for consideration and adoption at its thirty-second session.
