Abstract
Surface measurements of wind speed and direction, air temperatures, pressure, short and long wave radiation were obtained from instrumentation located on the foremast and main mast during CD 104 in the Gulf of Oman, Strait of Hormuz and the southern Arabian Gulf. Measurements of sea surface temperature were also made using a thermistor trailed from from the foredeck. This report presents daily plots of the above parameters. They provide a record of meteorological conditions during the cruise and also indicate the generally excellent agreement between different measurements of the same parameter. Some significant differences are occasionally observed but these are almost certainly due to the locations at which the measurements are made. Ships' speed and heading are also presented since changes in the orientation of the ship relative to the wind can play an important role.
