Abstract/Summary

Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) is an important ingredient in consumer products. The aim of this project was to use the LF2000-WQX to carry out a limited sensitivity analysis on predicted concentrations of D5 in the Rivers Bedford Ouse (referred to as the River Ouse) and the River Nene in Anglian Region. This analysis took the form of a range of scenarios that assessed the impact of Wastewater treatment plant (WwTP)and in-stream removal rates on D5 concentrations. The Rivers Bedford Ouse and Nene were selected because of the availability of monitored data with which to assess the outputs of the model scenarios.
