Abstract/Summary

Groundwater maps are an excellent tool for managing and developing groundwater. Maps are useful for advocacy, planning, analysis, monitoring and implementation. However, maps should be designed and developed at the appropriate scale to meet their expressed purpose. In this talk I discuss different methods of mapping and give examples from continental scale to local scale. Although Earth Observation and Machine Learning techniques offer some help, the most helpful data are generally borehole information on transmissivity, water levels and chemistry, combined with good geological maps
