Abstract
The flooding of winter 2013-14 in parts of the UK saw BGS groundwater scientists in demand from many media outlets during February 2014 to give expert opinion on the situation faced by many communities, particularly in the south of England. BGS scientists appeared on many TV and radio programmes, giving a mix of both live and pre-recorded interviews for BBC Radio Cumbria, BBC Radio Oxford, Sky TV, Sky Sunrise, Channel 4 News, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Radio Sussex and Surrey, Radio Wales, BBC TV News, BBC Radio 5live, BBC South Today, BBC Radio Northampton,ITV News,NTV Broadcasting Company (Russia).
