2013 release of a number of updated BGS data products

BGS has released a number of updated data products including the digital geological map at 1:50 000 (DiGMapGB-50), and has increased its network of data partners. In 2013 BGS data has been delivered to over 400 organisations including Environment Agency, Network Rail and United Utilities. In addition it has been passed on to BGS’ data partners who have repackaged and resold it in over 125,000 reports. Data that describes the geology and its impacts is very much in demand and BGS has been able to respond to this demand by delivering the data in a variety of ways, increasing the take up and exchange of data to both scientists and non-scientists.
