Abstract
The UK-Antarctic Place-names Committee website gives users access to the UK Antarctic Gazetteer through a web-map interface. This has been completely rebuilt in 2012-13 using up-to-date Open Source systems. Access to accurate information about place-names is important for scientific research and effective and safe logistics operations in Antarctica. The UK-APC is a Foreign and Commonwealth Office committee - leadership in maps and place-names is one way that the UK plays an influential role in Antarctic affairs.
