Managing radioactive waste safely : BBC Radio 4 Material World, 4 February 2013

BGS Radioactive Waste team leader Dr Richard Shaw was interviewed on BBC Radio 4's Material World programme about the management and storage of radioactive waste from the UK's nuclear power stations. Dr Shaw explained what a suitable environment would be for an underground storage site for a radioactive waste repository. Dr Shaw was also interviewed by BBC Radio Cumbria on 30 January following the decision in Cumbria to not take any further the local authority's interest in siting a geological storage facility for radioactive waste.
