Thorpe, Stephen. Borehole familiarisation event - drilling with a Dando Terrier (video). 30 October 2012, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld2OeYe2iFY&list=UU0JCbQti3FlTIzrJGZqzh3Q&index=11 [Output (Electronic)]

Abstract
In a video published on the BGS YouTube channel, BGS Dando Drilling Manager, Steve Thorpe, explains the basic principles of drilling using a Dando Terrier rig. This event was filmed at Shelford, near the River Trent, near Nottingham, in October 2012 as a demonstration to other BGS staff. The objectives were to show how the drilling process is completed; from identifying a site through the planning process to actually drilling a borehole, and recovering and logging the core. The borehole was drilled through river terrace sand and gravel deposits and reached the Mercia Mudstone bedrock at 3.5m depth.
