Abstract
Applied geological maps are being prepared as part of a study of the area around Wrexham in north-east Wales. The study was commissioned by the Department of the Environment and is being carried out by the British Geological Survey. One of the tasks is to explore computer methods of map production, against the background of the Survey's need to adapt to changes in information technology, thus ensuring that its repository of geological informaion is available in an appropriate form for future generations.
