Abstract
A biosensor for the detection of one or more alkane and/or alkene comprising an Acinetobacter species with a chromosomally integrated regulatory system linked to a means for detecting activation of the regulatory system, wherein in the presence of one or more alkane and/or alkene the chromosomally integrated regulatory system causes expression of the means for detecting activation of the regulatory system.
