Abstract/Summary

The role of groundwater-surface water interactions on quality in the Thames catchment is described. These include quality assessments in groundwater bodies, the contribution of baseflow, travel time in the unsaturated zone, hyporheic zone interactions in the upper part of the catchment and the role of floodplains in both water quality and flooding and concluding with possible impacts of climate change.
