Abstract/Summary

Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) is an important ingredient in consumer products. The aim of this project was to use the LF2000-WQX to estimate the total load of D5 entering the Humber estuary. Within this study, several in-stream removal rates for D5 were considered to provide an insight to the possible variability of the D5 load estimates. The various basins discharging within the Humber estuary are described within Chapter 2. Data sources used to establish the scenarios are described in Chapter 3, the results are presented in Chapter 4.
