Sedimentology of shallow cores from the 2001 Rockall-Hatton drilling programme

Leslie, A.. 2002 Sedimentology of shallow cores from the 2001 Rockall-Hatton drilling programme. Nottingham, UK, British Geological Survey, 21pp. (IR/02/021) (Unpublished)

Abstract

Ten shallow cores were examined to assess sedimentary environments, primarily of carbonate rocks. Four (quadrant 57-16, cores 16, 17, 18 and 19) were taken from the western margin of Rockall Bank. Four (57-17, cores 05, 07, 08 and 09) are in the vicinity of the Sandastre igneous centre in the Hatton-Rockall Basin. One (57-12/41) is from the top of the Anton Dohrn Seamount and one (58-12/09) is from the northern Rockall Trough). Other cores taken during the 2001 cruise did not contain significant sedimentary material.
