North of 62N geophysical survey RRS Discovery Cruise D265 BGS Project 02/01 operations report

This report describes the operation of Discovery Cruise D265, BGS Project 02/01, a regional geophysical survey of the UK Continental Shelf north of 62oN, carried out from 2–23 September 2002. The vessel proved to be excellent for the work and the survey was extremely successful. There was no weather downtime and survey operations were continuous throughout the period in the survey area. The basic programme was completed with seventeen additional lines being run over areas of specific interest. A total of 2625Km of very good quality data were collected. The survey was allocated Discovery Station Number 15042.
This survey was the second in a two year programme to map the UK Continental Shelf north of 62N. Details of the 2001 survey can be found in BGS Internal Report IR/01/178.
