Cribroperidinium 'frigatense' is described from Australasia. It is an extremely distinctive species of dinoflagellate cyst with parasutural lineations of short, trabeculate spines. The species occurs from the early Oxfordian (Late Jurassic) (lower Wanaea spectabilis Interval Zone) to the mid Berriasian (Early Cretaceous) (upper Cassiculosphaeridia delicata Interval Zone) of Australia (Carnarvon Basin and the Timor Sea), Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Misool, eastern Indonesia. It is most consistently present in the mid-late Kimmeridgian to mid Tithonian.
