This report is the published product of a study by the British Geological Survey (BGS) in collaboration with the University of Aberdeen and Scottish Natural Heritage. The work presented here is the culmination of an 18 month contract funded by the University Collaboration Advisory Committee (UCAC) employing relatively new laboratory techniques to determine the date of deposition and burial of glaciolacustrine sediments in the Cairngorm Mountains, Scotland. The project was supported within BGS by the Central Highlands strategic mapping project.
