Abstract/Summary

India has suffered from successive droughts in recent years, placing a severe strain on water resources. Inefficient water use and climate change have led to “day zero” scenarios. This is one of seven expert comments on the challenges, implications, and potential solutions to India’s looming water crisis brought together as a 'Voices' article entitled 'The long Indian summer'.
