The Geologically Oriented Scheme for Sharing Information on Programming (GOSSIP) series of reports provide information on the development of computer applications in geology world-wide, in the absence (at that time) of specialist journals for that fast-developing area.

Additional Information. Not used in RCUK Gateway to Research.: This document, alongside its 1966 counterpart, is of historical interest. A comparison of the 1966 and 1969 reports indicates the strong growth and directions of geological computing methods. Information elsewhere is sparse, as mainstream geological publications had little interest in computing and no appropriate specialist journal existed until the early 1970's.
