Abstract/Summary

The importance of roadside verges for biodiversity has been recognised in the draft Scottish Executive Trunk Road Biodiversity Action Plan. They often represent remnants of seminatural habitats that have become increasingly rare within agricultural landscapes.

Item Type: Publication - Report (Project Report)
UKCEH and CEH Sections/Science Areas: _ Atmospheric Sciences
_ Ecological Processes & Modelling
Funders/Sponsors: NERC/Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department, BIOROVER project
Additional Information. Not used in RCUK Gateway to Research.: Sim Tang has asked for this contract report to be added to NORA. There is a pdf of this report which Sim Tang would ideally like to be added to the NORA record so that it is publically accessible but there is still an oustanding query on whether we need customer approval in order to make it available online. I will follow up with Mark Sutton on this - the Scottish Executive no longer exists so we are not sure who in the Scottish Government to check with. There is a copy of this report in the Digital Archive which Adrian confirms has a note on it 'must be referred to the author'. Please note, I am not sure of the correct CEH science area/section that this 2004 report comes under - Sim said "it was led by ITE Banchory on ecology (the station was closed down). Mark and Neil Cape led the air quality measurements – science area/group was called Atmospheric Pollution I think at the time!" - however I could not find that listed so just opted for the closest. Please correct that field if needed.
