Abstract/Summary

A UNEP Rapid Response Assessment, released before the resumed 5th session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-5.2) in Nairobi, which took place 28 February - 2 March 2022. The report finds that climate change and land-use change are making wildfires worse and anticipates a global increase of extreme fires. The report calls on governments to adopt a new 'Fire Ready Formula'.
