Abstract/Summary
Many attempts have been made to trace increases in global pollution from the record of impurities preserved in polar snow and ice layers. Although inadequate sampling and analysis techniques have hampered some of the studies, others have improved uniquely our understanding of the history of changes in airborne pollution.
