Abstract/Summary
The sequences examined are located in the northern Viking Graben, in U.K. Licensed QUadrants 2, 3, 210 and 211 and Norwegian Licensed QUadrant 33 of the North Sea (Figure 1). The Broom Formation is the basal unit of the Brent Group (Aalenian-Bajocian), described by Deegan and Scull (1977). Cores through the Broom Formation and associated strata were examined as part of a stratigraphic and sedimentological study.
