Radiocaesium accumulation in myccorhizal fungi Lactarius rufus and Inocybe longicystis in upland Britain following the Chernobyl accident

Dighton, J.; Horrill, A.D.. 1988 Radiocaesium accumulation in myccorhizal fungi Lactarius rufus and Inocybe longicystis in upland Britain following the Chernobyl accident. Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 91 (2). 335-357. 10.1016/S0007-1536(88)80223-7

Abstract
Ratios of the radionuclides 137Cs to 134Cs show that a large proportion of the 137Cs present in the fruit bodies is derived from pre-Chernobyl fallout from atomic weapons testing. This suggests accumulation of the radionuclide by fungal mycelia.
