Abstract/Summary
Recording activity of bryologists was measured during the period 1947-2006 by the number of vice-county records published in the journals of the British Bryological Society. There were two phases of high activity, the first during 1952-1972 and the second during 1999-2006. The contributions of individual recorders were counted. The most prolific recorder was Jean Paton with 1,924 bryophyte records.
