Abstract
The World Data Centre for Geomagnetism, Edinburgh services the needs of the geomagnetism community. We collate, archive and distribute data from over 500 geomagnetic observatories worldwide. These data are used to create global models of the Earth’s magnetic field and to aid research into the hazard from space weather.
Recently the geomagnetism community has been developing standards for metadata and data publishing and we are working to build better practices within our WDC to align with these.
Over the next five years our main aims will include improving our data management, ensuring timely distribution of submitted data and modernising our user interface.
