Abstract/Summary

The Soufriere Hills region of the island of Montserrat in the British West Indies is the island's most recent volcanic centre. An investigation into the area's potential for geothermal energy has been undertaken by the Overseas Development Ministry in London in response to a request from the Montserrat government. As part of this investigation the authors visited Montserrat in April 1975 to conduct an electrical resistivity survey and recommend borehole sites. This report presents the geophysical results and discusses potential drilling sites in the light of them.
