Abstract/Summary
This book provides a unique insight into the bizarre creatures inhabiting the cold, remote deep waters of the northern North Atlantic. It highlights spectacular photographs of the marine life, taken in their natural habitat using high-tech remotely operated submersibles. This book represents nearly ten years of regular observations by the authors and is a treasure-trove of information on the deep marine life of the region. The hardback book starts with chapters on the history of deep-sea exploration in the area, the physical, biological and geological environment and then goes into detail on the animals encountered, with groups presented in taxonomic order and illustrated throughout with amazing full-colour photographs.
